With each calendar year, he begins the year at Oaklawn Park starting young horses on their path with veterans returning from the previous year to continue their careers. After Oaklawn Park, the stable extends it’s base into Iowa at Prairie Meadows and Churchill Downs in Louisville, KY. For the remainder of the summer and into the fall, Churchill is the trainer’s operation headquarters. He returns to his home in Piedmont in the fall where he is the all-time leading trainer at Remington Park.

Within the year, Donnie K. has shipped across the country when needed including Saratoga, Belmont, Arlington, and other locations. His knowledge and horsemanship with developing horses is a hallmark of his training ability. For the past decade, he has worked with several breeders including Pin Oak Stud to train horses from their maiden start to stakes victories to watch them retire to a different career. He continues to work with these offsprings to develop new superstars.
